Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel libraries
« on: October 20, 2014, 10:31:10 AM »
Hi,

I have to use the Office Interop library to open Excel but the add-in does not work with this. Is there any chance to get the add-in working with Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel libraries? I think it is described here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.office.interop.excel.addin(v=office.15).aspx?cs-save-lang=1&cs-lang=vb#code-snippet-1
I strongly need it and I want to pay for the amount of work.

Kind Regards.
Stephan

Why would you need Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel ?
I understand this reference is required for .Net or C# projects, but SfE is VBA.
This file should be present on your PC if Excel has been installed.

Hi,

I am using a special report-software. My guess is that the Office Interop library that the report-software uses to Open Excel has some how suspended the add-in.
Is there anything that can be done to have it work when it is called from Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel libraries?

Kind Regards

Hi Stephan,

As a first analysis, I would say that SfE should be listed as an authorized add-in inside your reporting tool.

In any case, you could use the template file (attached) that contains SfE macros and is therefore not depending on the Interop Libray and is easy to distibute as users do not have to install SfE.
